To enhance the newly launched Malaysia Multimedia Super
Corridor (MSC-Malaysia) in 1997, the Malaysian Government
put forward a plan to build a new Information Communication
Technology (ICT) city. Thus, Cyberjaya was developed
as a vital ingredient to the country's policy and ideals
of looking towards ICT as an engine of growth for the
future economy.
The Government identified the development of a zone
within Cyberjaya, known as the Cyberjaya Flagship Zone
(CFZ), designated for activities related to MSC-Malaysia.
Established on 28 March 1997, Setia Haruman was entrusted
with the responsibilities as the Master Developer of
Cyberjaya to develop the city's physical infrastructure
as well as facilities. Apart from developing this area,
Setia Haruman has been appointed to sell land to sub-developers
and individual purchasers. Setia Haruman also offers
assistance to MSC-status companies in obtaining appropriate
land and approvals for the construction of their premises.
It is also responsible for developing residential units
for the Cyberjaya population.
Today, Setia Haruman has successfully
transformed Cyberjaya into an intelligent city with
world-class standards and facilities, making it the
country's first and premier ICT city.
